Create and customize a review widget that displays Google and Facebook reviews on your website with automatic updates, branded styling, and flexible layout options.

Prerequisites

Before building your review widget, make sure you have:

Admin access to your GoHighLevel sub-account
Active review data from connected platforms (Google Business Profile and/or Facebook Page)
A website or funnel page where you can embed HTML code or use the HighLevel site builder
At least a few existing reviews to display in the widget

Connect Your Review Sources

The widget pulls review data from platforms you have integrated with the Reputation module.

Connect Google Business Profile

Navigate to Settings > Integrations
Locate Google Business Profile
Click Connect
Sign in with the Google account that has Owner or Manager access
Select your business location
Accept permission prompts
Verify the Connected badge appears

Connect Facebook Page

Navigate to Settings > Integrations
Locate Facebook
Click Connect
Log in with your Facebook credentials
Select your Facebook Page
Accept permission prompts
Verify the Connected badge appears

The widget automatically syncs with these platforms. New reviews will appear in the widget without manual updates.

Build your widget using the visual builder with layout, content, appearance, and settings tabs.

Navigate to Reputation in the left sidebar
Click the Widgets tab in the top navigation bar
Click + Create Widget to open the builder

Choose Your Layout

In the Layout tab, configure the structure and review source:

Review Source: Select Google, Facebook, or All to pull reviews from your connected platforms
Widget Type: Choose your display format:
- List: Vertical stack of reviews, good for dedicated testimonial pages
- Grid: Multi-column layout for wider page sections
- Masonry: Staggered Pinterest-style layout with variable-height cards
- Carousel: Rotating reviews that cycle automatically
- Slider: One review at a time with smooth transitions
- Floating Badge: Persistent corner badge that rotates through top reviews
- Flash: Compact, attention-grabbing format for quick highlights
- Legacy: Original widget format for backward compatibility
Max Number of Reviews: Set a cap on how many reviews display (recommended: 6 to 12 for most layouts)
Minimum Ratings: Filter by star rating (for example, set to 4 to show only 4 and 5-star reviews)
Powered by: Toggle the “Powered by” message on or off

Enable AI Review Summaries (Optional)

If you want an auto-generated sentiment overview at the top of your widget:

Toggle on AI Summary
Summary Type: Choose Short (1 to 2 sentences), Detailed (3 to 4 sentences), or Action Points (bullet format)
Summary Position: Place the summary at the top or inline within the review layout

AI summaries update dynamically as new reviews come in.

Configure Content

In the Content tab, customize the header section and text elements:

Toggle on Title to show a heading above reviews
Set the Heading text (for example, “What Our Customers Say” or “Real Feedback From Real Clients”)
Enter a Description to provide context below the heading
Toggle on Header to display the summary area with aggregate star rating, total review count, and a “Write a Review” button
For Carousel and Slider layouts, set the Slider Interval (how many seconds each review stays visible before rotating)
For Floating Badge, choose the Widget Position (top or bottom, left or right)

Customize Appearance

In the Appearance tab, match the widget to your brand:

Theme: Choose Light, Dark, or Custom
- Light and Dark provide ready-made color schemes
- Custom unlocks granular color control for every element
Font: Select a font family that matches your website typography
Color Customization (when using Custom theme):
- Background colors for widget container and individual review cards
- Border colors
- Star rating colors
- Review text colors
- Button colors
- Avatar colors
- Summary text colors

The preview updates in real time as you make changes.

Configure Settings

In the Settings tab, fine-tune what information appears on each review card:

Toggle on Display Date to show when each review was posted
Toggle on Display Reviewer Icon to show avatars or initials
Toggle on Exclude Reviews Containing No Description to filter out star-only reviews without written text

Click Save at the top-right of the builder
Your widget is now ready to embed

If you are using the platform’s built-in site builder or funnel builder, embedding is simple.

Open your site or funnel page in the builder
Drag the Reviews element from the Elements panel onto your page
Position the element where you want the reviews to appear
The element automatically pulls in your default widget configuration
Save and publish your page

The widget is now live and will update automatically as new reviews come in.

For WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or custom-built sites, use the embed code method.

Copy the Embed Code

Navigate to Reputation > Widgets
Open the widget you want to embed by clicking the widget card
Click the Code icon in the settings panel
Use the dropdown to select the correct widget if you have multiple
Click Copy Code

Paste the Code Into Your Website

Open your website editor
Navigate to the page where you want the reviews to display
Add a Custom HTML block or Code block (the specific element name varies by platform)
Paste the copied embed code into the block
Save and publish your page

The widget displays immediately and updates automatically as new reviews arrive.

Use a Pre-Built Template

Templates let you launch a polished widget in seconds without configuring every setting.

Navigate to Reputation > Widgets
Click the Templates tab at the top-right
Browse the available designs
Click any template to preview it
Click Apply Template to load the design instantly
Click Edit Widget to customize the applied template further

Templates handle layout, color, and typography choices out of the box. You can override any setting after applying them.

Create Additional Widgets

You can create multiple widgets with different configurations for different pages.

Navigate to Reputation > Widgets
Click + Create Widget to build a new one
Configure the new widget with different layout, filters, or styling
Save the widget
Use the embed code method to place each widget on different pages

All saved widgets appear in the Saved Widgets section. You can rename, edit, or delete any widget from this view.

Test Your Setup

Verify that your widget displays correctly and updates as expected.

Visit the page where you embedded the widget
Confirm that reviews are visible and rendering correctly
Check that star ratings, review text, reviewer names, and dates display properly
Verify that the layout matches your configured widget type (grid, slider, list, etc.)

Test Responsiveness

View the page on a mobile device or use your browser’s responsive design mode
Confirm that the widget adjusts correctly for smaller screens
Check that text is readable and buttons are clickable on mobile

Verify Auto-Updates

Add a new review to one of your connected platforms (Google or Facebook)
Wait 10 to 15 minutes for the review to sync
Refresh your website page
Confirm the new review appears in the widget

Test Multiple Widgets

If you embedded multiple widgets on the same page using the embed code method:

Verify that each widget displays independently
Confirm that each widget reflects its unique configuration (different filters, layouts, or styling)
