Products & Pricing
Products & Pricing is the backbone of every transaction in the platform. Whether you sell physical goods, digital downloads, or recurring subscriptions, the product catalog gives you centralized control over what you offer and how you charge for it. Products created here flow automatically into invoices, payment links, funnel order forms, and your online store.
What Products & Pricing Does
The product system supports one-time charges, recurring billing cycles, free trials, setup fees, compare-at pricing for discount displays, inventory tracking, product variants, and full tax configuration.
Where products are used
- Invoices and recurring billing schedules
- Payment links for shareable checkout pages
- Funnel order forms (one-step and two-step)
- Online store storefronts with collections and search
- Calendar bookings with payment collection
- Membership areas and gated content
Product types
- One-time products charge a single fee at purchase, ideal for consultations, setup fees, and physical merchandise
- Recurring products charge at regular intervals (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) for subscriptions and retainer services
- Physical products include shipping address fields during checkout
- Digital products skip shipping fields and provide download access after purchase
Key Configuration Options
Product information: Enter a title, rich text description, and upload media (1024x1024 resolution, max 10 MB). Enable Include in Online Store to make the product visible in your storefront. Assign a product label like “New” or “Best Seller” and organize into collections.
Tax settings: Select a product tax code for automatic calculations during checkout. Choose whether to display prices tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive. Attach specific tax rates manually for multi-jurisdiction compliance. Set a statement descriptor to customize what appears on customer bank statements.
Pricing: Set the pricing type to One Time or Recurring. Enter the amount and optionally a compare-at price to show discount savings. Select currency (cannot be changed after creation). Enable Track Inventory to manage stock levels and auto-mark products unavailable when stock reaches zero.
Variants: Add option names like “Plan Level” or “Size” with multiple values (Basic, Premium, Pro). Each variant gets its own price, compare-at price, and inventory quantity. Variants are ideal for tiered service packages and bundled offerings.
Trial periods (recurring products only): Enter a trial period in days to delay the first charge. Setup fees charge immediately even during the trial. After the trial expires, the first recurring charge processes automatically.
Search engine listing: Customize the SEO title, description, and URL handle for clean, keyword-rich product pages that improve discoverability.
Power Features
Stripe integration: Products automatically sync to your connected Stripe account. One-time products must be created in the platform. Recurring products can be imported from Stripe using Import from Stripe under Payments > Products.
Coupons and discounts: Create percentage or fixed-amount discount codes under Payments > Coupons. Define usage limits, expiration dates, and which products the coupon applies to. Combine coupons with compare-at pricing for maximum promotional impact.
Upsells and downsells: Configure upsell sequences in funnel settings to present higher-tier products after the initial purchase. Add downsell offers if customers decline the upsell. Each offer references a product from your catalog.
Inventory management: When Track Inventory is enabled, stock decreases with each purchase. At zero, the product appears as unavailable. Manually adjust stock levels at any time under Payments > Products.
Multi-currency support: Supported currencies depend on your Stripe account’s country and enabled currencies. Enable additional currencies in your Stripe account settings first.
Pro Tips
- Connect your payment processor before creating products to ensure transactions process correctly from day one. Navigate to Payments > Integrations to connect Stripe or another supported gateway.
- Upload high-quality media (1024x1024 resolution) for every product. Products with images convert significantly better than text-only listings.
- Use variants instead of duplicate products when offering the same product at multiple tiers. This keeps your catalog clean and reporting consolidated.
- Set compare-at prices for promotions to show the original price alongside the discounted price. This creates urgency and communicates value.
- Keep recurring and one-time products separate since invoices filter by pricing type. Mixing both types on a single product can cause confusion when building invoices.
Common Questions
How do I create a new product?
Navigate to Payments > Products and click + Create Product. Fill in the product information, configure pricing, and click Save. The product is immediately available for use in invoices, payment links, funnels, and your online store.
What is the difference between physical and digital products?
Physical products include shipping address fields at checkout. Digital products skip shipping fields for a faster checkout experience. For digital products, download access requires at least one file uploaded to the product or variant.
Why can I not find my product when creating an invoice?
The platform filters products based on pricing type. Standard invoices show only one-time products, and recurring invoices show only recurring products. Verify the product’s pricing type matches the invoice type you are creating.
How does the trial period work?
The trial period is always measured in days. During the trial, the customer is not charged the recurring amount. Once the trial expires, the first billing cycle begins automatically. Setup fees charge immediately at purchase regardless of the trial.
Can I import products from Stripe?
Only recurring or subscription products can be imported from Stripe. One-time products must be created directly in the platform. Use the Import from Stripe option under Payments > Products to pull in eligible products.
